The mother of Yeimi Alondra, a victim of femicide in the north of the country, posted a message on Facebook stating that art not only beautifies space but also reflects the light and love it represents. During the first official visit of President Claudia Sheinbaum to Baja California Sur, Deisy López, Yeimi Alondra's mother, intercepted the president to ask her to intensify the search for her daughter's body, thrown into the sea after the crime.
"I want to strengthen the search, justice, and for her to check the irregularities of the case. I ask her to commit to doing something about it and to move the authorities. I want her to see me, and I ask for justice for my daughter," Deisy López expressed. Additionally, she has called on other people affected by gender-based violence to manifest and make their voices heard.
The crime against Yeimi Alondra occurred on September 27 on a yacht in the Cabo San Lucas marina. The alleged feminicide, Jesús “N”, threw her lifeless body beyond the bay of Cabo San Lucas. Despite the efforts of local organizations and authorities, the young woman's remains have not yet been found. Jesús “N” is in preventive detention and has been linked to the process for the crime of disappearance of a person, while the State Attorney General's Office continues to investigate to charge for the crime of femicide.
Deisy López commented that Claudia Sheinbaum committed to reviewing and supporting her cause to find her daughter's body. Yeimi Alondra's mother thanked the president for her willingness and hope to achieve justice in this case.
